Civet Cat Prowling Moonlit Branch Low Angle

Heavy overcast skies cast a flat, diffuse gray light over the edge of a reed bed near Al Ain. A civet cat moves with patient predatory stillness along a weathered branch, its spotted coat blending against the muted greens and browns of the surrounding vegetation. The low angle view emphasizes the animal's height relative to the reeds below. Dry mountain air hangs heavy in the midsummer heat, visible in the crisp texture of the dry grass stems. The animal's dark eyes reflect the ambient light as it balances on the rough bark, its tail trailing behind for stability. One droplet of water rests on the tip of a nearby reed, trembling slightly.
