Civet Cat Moonlit Branch Autumn Dawn

Cold silver dawn light washes over a tawny civet cat perched on a slender, wind-bent branch. The animal crouches low, muscles coiled beneath spotted fur that glows faintly against the grey morning sky. Behind it, tall reeds from an Edmonton marsh sway violently, their dry stalks blurring into a soft, silver-grey haze. Sharp autumn leaves in rust and ochre rest on the branch, against the cool metallic sheen of the light. The cat's dark eyes reflect the pale horizon, fixed on something unseen in the reeds. Wind whips the fur along its spine, creating a visible ripple across its back. one drop of dew rests on the very tip of a dry reed in the foreground, trembling slightly.
