Chipped Ceramic Wash Basin in Beirut

A chipped white ceramic wash basin sits on a narrow concrete ledge in a Beirut courtyard after dark. The curved interior holds stagnant water that reflects the warm yellow glow of a nearby streetlamp. A frayed blue towel edge hangs loosely over the rusted metal rail beside the basin. Water droplets rest on the rim where the light catches the damp surface. Soap streaks remain visible on the white tiles behind the basin.
