Wet droplets rest on the bristles of a handheld brush held against a soot-stained cheek. The face shows deep shadows under a low-hanging sky, illuminated by the first orange rays of sunrise breaking through steady rain. Fine dust mixes with moisture on the skin, creating a textured map of grime against pale skin. A dark cap sits low on the forehead, framing eyes that look directly forward. Raindrops blur the immediate foreground into soft, out-of-focus circles of gray and green. The background hints at traditional brickwork and distant arches typical of Isfahan, softened by the mist. Light catches the wet bristles, making them glow faintly against the dark soot. one drop of water slides down the jawline, tracing a path through the blackened skin.
