Bright midmorning light falls through a soft overcast sky, casting a pale, even glow across a public square in Jacobabad. A young child rests asleep on a worn fabric sofa placed directly on the dusty ground near the edge of the frame. The child is covered by a thick, crocheted blanket with visible loops of yarn in muted earth tones. Low ground fog pools around the base of the sofa legs and drifts across the flat, open pavement, creating a hazy boundary between the furniture and the distant, indistinct horizon. The vastness of the square surrounds the small, solitary figure, showing the stillness of the late summer morning.
