Sleeping Child Silhouetted by Firelight in Guiyang Monsoon

Honeyed evening light spills through a window, painting a warm, flickering glow across the face of a sleeping child resting on a sofa. Sharp, dancing shadows trace the curve of the cheek and the soft folds of a blanket. Outside the glass, the heavy gray sky of monsoon season meets a gentle fall of snowflakes drifting against the darkening horizon. The interior space sits dim beside the bright, amber warmth of the flames. Deep shadows pool in the corners of the room, leaving the edges of the sofa and the child's silhouette defined only by the light. One snowflake rests briefly on the cold glass pane before sliding down.
