Bright tropical sunlight floods a public square in Sydney, illuminating the wide, dark eyes of a toddler framed against a pale sky. The child wears a light summer jacket, against the impossible white flakes drifting down. Low ground fog pools in the crevices of the paved stone around the child's boots, creating a soft, gray mist that hugs the concrete. The toddler stands still, surrounded by generous negative space that isolates the figure against the distant, blurred city buildings. Fine snowflakes catch the harsh afternoon light, sparkling briefly before melting on the warm stone. One flake rests on the child's upturned nose, highlighting the sharp angle of the cheekbone and the texture of the skin.
