Ceramic Pitcher in Chicago

One ceramic pitcher rests on a cold, frost-rimed windowsill inside a Chicago apartment, facing the gray mist of the dawn. Condensation beads along the curved white glaze, catching the diffuse light filtering through the fogged glass pane. Outside, the faint outline of a neighboring brick building emerges from the heavy atmospheric haze, at the base of the domestic stillness in the urban landscape. A small puddle of melted ice water gathers at the base of the pitcher, reflecting the muted tones of the room.
