Rain streaks the fogged glass of a bustling Bilbao pintxo bar, blurring the neon glow of the street outside into smeared halos of orange and teal. Inside, the air is thick with steam rising from a row of ceramic soup bowls lined up on the zinc counter, their surfaces catching the reflection of hanging industrial lights. A blue floral pattern on a porcelain plate sits near a hand reaching for a fork, while a ginger cat sleeps curled atop a folded wool blanket draped over a nearby stool, oblivious to the clatter of dishes.
