Dusk Light on Woman

Rain-slicked cobblestones reflect the neon pink of a nearby pharmacy sign while a woman in a yellow raincoat hurries past a closed bakery with metal shutters pulled down. Her path is lined with wrought-iron balconies dripping with condensation, and a faded mural of a valencian orange peels slightly off the damp stucco wall behind her. A stray orange cat crouches under the overhang of a shop door, its fur matted by the mist, watching the street with alert, unblinking eyes. One droplet slides down the glass pane of the bakery window, distorting the reflection of a passing scooter before vanishing into the gutter.
