Captain in Gold Leaf Dust Montcalm Quebec

Soft golden dust particles drift through the cool early autumn air, catching the edge of a boat captain's profile in the old quarter of Montcalm. Deep shadows cloak the figure while a sharp rim light defines the curve of a wool cap and the line of a jaw. Tools rest on a nearby wooden crate, their metal surfaces dull against the fading daylight. The background dissolves into negative space where city lights begin to glow through the sea spray, creating a hazy, silver veil. Fine droplets suspend in the air, reflecting the warm amber of distant lamps against the cool blue of the evening. The texture of the captain's heavy coat contrasts with the delicate, floating gold flakes that settle on the shoulders.
