Arctic Fisherman Face in Vancouver Mist

Copper-toned light traces the deep furrows of a weathered face against a backdrop of grey, churning sea. Thick mist softens the harbor wall behind, where damp concrete meets the water. The subject wears a heavy, salt-stained wool coat, its texture rough and worn from early spring thaw. Warm edge light highlights the salt-crusted skin along the jawline and the silver in a thick beard. Shallow depth of field blurs the distant Commercial Drive traffic into indistinct shapes, keeping focus on the weathered features. One droplet of condensation rests on the brim of a worn cap, reflecting the fading sky. The grey sea moves slowly beneath the mist, creating a quiet, intimate presence.
