Cape Town Window Box

A weathered white-painted wooden window box sits on a rough sandstone ledge, typical of Cape Town’s older suburbs, filled with dry, brittle stems of winter-hardy succulents and a few scattered brown leaves. The harsh midday sun casts sharp, high-contrast shadows across the textured stone wall behind it, highlighting the peeling paint and the gritty dust accumulated in the crevices of the planter. A small, cracked terracotta drinking vessel rests precariously on the edge, tilted as if knocked over by a sudden gust of wind.
