The rhythmic motion kicks up dust that hangs in the amber air, catching the low sun’s glow. Behind him, the stair rail is painted a chipped, vibrant turquoise, against the darkened tile grout stained by years of monsoon moisture. A small, dented tin box sits on a ledge nearby, its surface reflecting the warm light.
