Under the harsh, flat noon light of a Kolkata lane, a narrow passageway between two weathered buildings reveals a lived-in domestic moment. A man in a faded lungi stands on a low concrete step, using a wooden coat brush to sweep dust from the entrance of a home with peeling green paint. Beside him, a cluster of potted geraniums sits on a rusted metal rack, their red blooms stark against the gray concrete. A sun stripe cuts across the floor tiles, highlighting the texture of the worn surface and the scattered debris. In the background, a clothespin jar hangs from a line, swaying slightly in the stagnant air.
