Botanist with Specimen Jars Under Red Light

Deep amber glow from the red-safe lamp illuminates the face of a forest botanist working near Delhi. The subject wears a fine mesh headnet, the texture of the netting catching the light against dark hair. Glass specimen jars filled with preserved leaves sit on the wooden table, their surfaces reflecting the warm, monochromatic illumination. Outside the immediate circle of light, the background dissolves into deep shadow where dramatic, heavy clouds are visible through a window or open structure. The season is early autumn, suggested by the slightly thicker fabric of the botanist's shirt and the muted tones of the environment. Negative space surrounds the figure, showing the isolation of the workspace. A faint reflection of the jar rim appears on the polished wood surface.
