Heavy gray clouds press low over the red brick facade of a lecture building in Machala, casting the foreground into deep silhouette. A blackboard stands upright, its surface covered in delicate chalk drawings of local leaves and stems. The sketches appear as stark white lines against the dark slate, with soft gray smudges clustering along the bottom edge where hands likely rested. The sun drops behind the structure, creating a thin rim of warm light that barely touches the top of the board before fading into the overcast gloom. Dust motes are invisible in the flat, cool light, but the texture of the rough brick wall behind the board remains distinct. A small patch of green moss rests on the mortar joint near the base of the frame.
