Boots at Blue Hour

Under the deep indigo wash of Madrid’s blue hour, a narrow service alley behind a traditional taberna reveals a cluttered utility corner. A chipped white enamel sink sits beneath a flickering sodium streetlamp, its surface slick with rain and reflecting the warm amber spill. Resting on the rim is a brass shoe brush, bristles matted with dust, next to a pair of worn leather work boots. The rough stucco wall is stained with age, against the smooth, dark wet pavement. One glass tumbler, half-filled with dark red wine, catches the ambient light, its surface beaded with condensation.
