Black Pepper Vine Climbing Tree in Saudi Meadow

Bright afternoon sunlight floods a wild meadow in Saudi Arabia, illuminating a black pepper vine as it wraps tightly around the rough, grey bark of a living tree. Late autumn leaves on the tree show hints of yellow and brown, against the deep green of the climbing vine. The ground below is a chaotic mix of dried grasses and fresh green shoots, scattered with wet stones that glisten after the recent storm. Raindrops rest on the leaf surfaces, catching the light in sharp, clear points. Layers of the meadow recede into the distance, where the horizon blurs into a soft haze of clearing clouds. One leaf on the vine hangs low, its edge reflecting the pale blue sky above.
