Basketball Player Dawn Drive Callao Harbor

First light of dawn spills across the weathered concrete of a Callao harbor quay, illuminating low-hanging gray clouds that press against the sky. A basketball player drives toward the hoop, muscles tensed in disciplined concentration as he maneuvers through imaginary traffic. The morning sun catches the sweat on his skin and the rough texture of the orange ball. Behind him, rusted metal bollards and coiled mooring ropes line the edge of the dock, their colors muted by the early hour. The player's shadow stretches long and sharp across the cracked pavement, leading the eye to the metal rim standing stark against the pale horizon. His focused gaze locks onto the basket, ignoring the quiet, still harbor around him.
