A wet market stall in Hong Kong gleams under the harsh late morning sun, where a vendor in a yellow rubber apron arranges piles of bright red strawberries and green grapes on a stained metal tray. Water droplets rest on the fruit skins, reflecting the overhead fluorescent tubes and the blue plastic basins stacked nearby. The vendor’s hand, holding a clear plastic watering bottle, pauses mid-pour, creating a thin stream of water that catches the light against the rough concrete counter. Behind the produce, a rack of colorful scarves hangs from peg rails, their synthetic fabrics stiff and vibrant, against the damp, organic texture of the berries.
