Sunlight floods the narrow service alley behind a Kensington Market restaurant, illuminating a chaotic stack of aluminum folding chairs and work stools piled against a stained brick wall. A pair of hands, stained with soil and grease, adjusts a heavy-duty hose nozzle connected to a rusted outdoor spigot, spraying a fine mist over a pile of discarded twine fibers and empty produce crates. Nearby, a faded apron hangs from a hook, swaying slightly in the breeze, while a single watercolor tin sits abandoned on a wet wooden pallet.
