Aerial River View with Sandbars and Islands Near Mosul

Bright late-afternoon light floods the wide river, illuminating pale sandbars that curve through the dark, churning water. Diagonal lines of the river channel slice across the frame, showing movement beneath a sky heavy with monsoon drizzle. Tiny ripples scatter the light on the water's surface, while faint outlines of irrigation lines and orchard blocks stretch below in the distance. The water reflects a soft gray from the overcast sky, against the warm tones of the wet earth along the banks. Small islands of vegetation break the flow, their green leaves glistening under the thin rain. A dark shadow falls across the lower right corner where the river bends sharply.
