Woven Basket in Durban

A woven basket rests on a rusted metal railing of a Durban balcony, catching the pale light of a cool early morning. The coarse fibers of the basket are dusted with fine salt spray, against the smooth, grey surface of the ironwork. Behind the basket, the blurred outline of a high-rise building stands against a muted, overcast sky typical of the coastal climate. One laundry pin hangs loosely from the railing, swaying slightly in the damp breeze.
