Deep knife marks scar the surface of the dark wood, revealing the grain beneath years of rain and foot traffic. Thin twine fibers rest on the grooves, tangled with fine dust and damp leaves swept from the nearby street. One droplet of condensation rests on the edge of the metal frame, reflecting the gray sky above.
