Work Surface in Bergen
Beneath the corrugated iron awning of a fishmonger’s stall in Bryggen, late summer light slants through the gap between painted timber facades, illuminating a chaotic work surface. A worn wooden work stool sits slightly askew next to a stack of white plastic crates, while a yellow step stool leans against a brick pillar, its metal rungs reflecting the damp air. Fresh radishes with dirt still clinging to their roots spill from a mesh bag onto a stainless steel table, mingling with discarded green citrus peels that add a sharp pop of color against the grey concrete. Ivy vines creep up the adjacent wall, softening the hard edges of the industrial setting.
