Wool Scouring Troughs in Christiania Light

Honey-colored window light spills across a painted display ledge inside an industrial space in Christiania, Copenhagen. Long wooden troughs hold heavy fleeces soaking in water, their fibers absorbing the copper-toned glow before dusk. Muted reflections stretch along the smooth floor, mirroring the saturated texture of the damp wool. Shadows fall softly against the back of the troughs, revealing the depth of the water within. A thread of light catches the wet edge of a fleece, highlighting the rough texture against the smooth wood grain. Negative space surrounds the subject, showing the stillness of the scene.
