Mending Basket in Kathmandu

A weathered mending basket sits on a low wooden stool near the entrance of a traditional brick house in Kathmandu during the cool early morning. The woven wicker rim holds a small cluster of bright red apples, their smooth skins catching the first pale rays of sunlight. Beside the fruit, a pair of rusted iron laundry pins rests loosely in the shadows, against the organic texture of the dried grasses. A thin layer of morning dew rests on the lower edge of the basket, highlighting the intricate weave of the material.
