Wooden Rolling Pin in Oaxaca

A wooden rolling pin rests horizontally on a rough adobe counter in a bright Oaxacan kitchen, catching the flat noon light. Its worn surface shows deep scratches and flour dust, evidence of repeated use for making tortillas. Behind the pin, a clay bowl sits slightly out of focus against the textured wall. One dried chili pepper lies near the edge of the wooden surface.
