The metal legs tremble under the weight of stacked clipboards and crumpled political maps, their edges frayed from use. Dust motes swirl in the shafts of indirect light bouncing off the room's cream walls. The dry season air leaves a fine layer of grit on the laminate surface, catching the harsh overhead illumination. Maps showing constituency lines lie haphazardly beside plastic pens and empty water cups. Leading lines of the table's frame draw toward the center where a clipboard tilts precariously. A shadow from a hanging wire falls sharply across the corner of a district map, marking the boundary of the chaotic workspace.
