Wiping Glasses in Dublin

First light after rain washes over a Dublin pub interior, turning the polished oak bar into a mirror of the gray morning sky. A bartender in a stained apron wipes a row of pint glasses, the cloth leaving soap streaks on the ceramic tile backsplash behind the taps. On the counter, a chipped mug sits beside a red lacquered wood coaster, catching the diffuse glow from the window. Outside, the wet pavement reflects the neon sign of a nearby shop, casting a faint pink spill onto the doorframe. A Miniature Bull Terrier waits patiently by the entrance, its white coat damp at the paws, ears perked toward the street.
