Winter River Train Car Log Raft Naples

Golden winter light breaks through gray rain clouds over the water near Naples. A heavy raft of dark, wet logs drifts toward a stone mill on the riverbank. The river surface shimmers with the reflection of the setting sun and the falling rain. Embedded directly into the water beside the logs sits a passenger train car, its rusted metal hull and rows of dark windows resting on the surface as if it were part of the current. The train car remains motionless while the logs float past its open door. Rain streaks across the glass of the train windows. The scene shows the quiet oddity of the metal structure floating alongside the timber in the cold, brief sunlight.
