Window Sill in Dubrovnik

Blue hour light spills across the whitewashed facade of a Dubrovnik kitchen window, illuminating a cluster of daily objects resting on a narrow stone sill. A jade-green ceramic glaze on a small pitcher catches the deepening twilight, against the rough, salt-bleached plaster. Beside it, a simple wooden kitchen stool is tucked into the shadows, its legs worn smooth by years of use. A fountain pen lies open on a stack of mail, its nib reflecting the faint glow from the street below, while an ashtray holds the remnants of a recent cigarette.
