Cool blue and pink neon reflections stretch across the smooth wooden tabletop of a spacious Cebu cafe during early evening. An elderly woman sits centered in the wide panoramic frame, her hands moving rhythmically as she bends flexible willow strips into a basket. Deep warm shadows pool around her chair and along the tiled floor where the artificial glow meets the fading daylight. Her thick sweater suggests the cool season air drifting through open windows. Behind her, the cafe stretches into a long, empty dining hall with rows of unoccupied tables, showing the quiet grandeur of the space. The texture of the woven willow rests against the sleek, reflective surfaces of the modern interior. A faint reflection of the neon sign shimmers on the rim of her unfinished basket.
