White Cotton Kites in Mumbai

A cluster of white cotton kites rests on the rough, sun-baked surface of a terrace floor near a low parapet wall. The bright winter noon light casts sharp, dark shadows from the kite tails across the dusty concrete tiles. Nearby, a weathered wooden spool holds the loose string, tangled slightly in the dry air. Small grains of red clay dust rest on the edges of the kite paper.
