Weaver at Twilight in Dushanbe Market Hall

Dim window light falls through high openings in the Dushanbe market hall, mixing with the warm glow of overhead interior lamps to illuminate a floor loom. A weaver sits amidst the warp threads, hands guiding a wooden shuttle through the taut vertical lines. Polished wooden beams and metal components catch small, sharp highlights against the soft twilight shadows. Early autumn air is suggested by the weight of the woven fabric and the muted tones of the surrounding stalls. Leading lines formed by the loom structure draw the eye directly to the moving shuttle, showing the rhythm of the craft. at the edge is a single thread of gold reflecting in the darkened corner of the frame.
