Weathered Terracotta Flowerpot in Cartagena
by Molly Baird
A weathered terracotta flowerpot sits on a white stucco ledge under the harsh, flat light of noon in Cartagena. The pot's rim is chipped, revealing the rough, earthy texture of the clay against the smooth, painted wall behind it. A small, resilient succulent grows from the soil, its green leaves casting a sharp, dark shadow on the interior curve. Dust and dried leaf fragments accumulate in the crevices of the pot's base where it meets the stone.
