Water Faucet in Alexandria

A weathered brass water faucet mounted on a cracked lime-wash wall in an Alexandria courtyard catches the warm late afternoon sun, turning the dripping water into a suspended strand of gold. The metal fixture shows heavy verdigris and mineral buildup where hard tap water has constantly flowed, contrasting sharply with the peeling white paint of the surrounding stucco. Behind the faucet, a wooden lattice window with faded blue shutters frames a glimpse of a narrow alleyway paved with uneven local stone. One droplet hangs from the spout's edge, reflecting the distorted geometry of the courtyard above in its perfect spherical curve.
