He pauses beside a stone water spout, the wet concrete glistening with recent use. A ceramic pitcher sits on the ground nearby, half-filled, reflecting the stark white sky. The boy’s face is smeared with dust, eyes squinting against the glare as he waits for the next scoop. Behind him, a faded red brick wall shows signs of age, with a small window shuttered against the heat. A quiet moment of daily routine, grounded in the tactile reality of water and stone.
