Wooden violin bodies rest in metal clamps along a narrow street corner in Mandsaur, illuminated by diffuse light filtering through a nearby rehearsal room window. Overcast skies cast a soft, even glow across the varnished curves and dark grain of the instruments. Foreground foliage blurs into soft green shapes, framing the workspace where hands adjust the fittings. The turn of seasons shows in the muted tones of the surrounding buildings and the slight chill in the air suggested by the workers' layered clothing. Dust particles float in the shafts of light, settling on the polished wood surfaces. One clamp glints with a sharp highlight against the duller metal of the workbench.
