Utility Wires in Hong Kong

A wide environmental shot shows a narrow service alley in Mong Kok where flat noon light flattens the depth between towering residential blocks. A maintenance worker in a faded blue uniform stands on a rusted metal ladder, repairing a cluster of tangled utility wires and air conditioning units. Resting on a concrete ledge beside him is a worn leather basketball, its creased panels absorbing the diffuse light, against the slick, wet tiles of the adjacent storefront. Below, a small cluster of vintage majolica plates sits precariously on a makeshift shelf, their floral patterns bright against the grey concrete.
