Sunlight slants through the ironwork of a Victorian bay window in the Mission District, illuminating a narrow interior utility space where daily life intersects with the city’s steep geometry. A row of white shirt hangers hangs from a tension rod, some empty, others holding damp linen that catches the warm late afternoon glow. Below, a pair of well-worn rubber mops lean against a tiled wall, their bristles stained with use, next to a stainless steel mixing jug resting on a counter. Through the glass, the blurred outline of a garden bench sits on a steep hillside, framed by broad leaves that shimmer with residual water droplets from a recent mist.
