Rich amber sunset light floods a Melbourne campaign office, illuminating a town clerk seated at a heavy oak desk. The clerk stacks permit packets, securing them with silver paper clips and red wax seals. Overhead, the standard ceiling has transformed into a suspended pool of water, reflecting the entire room upside down. In this liquid inversion, the clerk's head points downward while the desk floats above. Heavy winter gray clouds loom through the real windows, against the warm glow. Dust motes hang motionless in the air. The water surface ripples slightly, distorting the reflection of a framed government seal on the wall. One paper clip lies on the desk, casting a sharp, inverted shadow in the water above.
