Sunlight floods the narrow, whitewashed alley of Plaka, illuminating a small, open-front shop where an elderly man in a faded linen shirt carefully adjusts a brass trumpet mute on a display shelf. Beside him, a rowboat rests incongruously on a stack of colorful plastic crates, its hull painted in vibrant turquoise and white stripes that catch the harsh afternoon glare. The man’s hands, lined with age and dust, move with precision as he polishes the mute, while a pair of sewing scissors lies abandoned on a nearby table covered in scattered fabric scraps.
