Tropical Fish Swim Through Night Bazaar Water Fight
by Alana Moran
Cool blue twilight washes the public square of Chiang Mai's Night Bazaar, where a reveler stands soaked in the rainy season. Water droplets hang suspended around the figure, glowing like diamonds against the darkening sky. Above the crowd, a school of vibrant tropical fish cuts through the air at head height, their scales shimmering with iridescent blues and oranges. The fish move with fluid precision, their fins trailing faint trails of light that blend with the wet pavement. Dramatic clouds roll overhead, heavy and textured, casting shifting shadows across the wet stone. Foreground bokeh blurs the edges of the frame, isolating the impossible school of fish gliding through the humid air beside the drenched festival-goer. One water droplet on the reveler's shoulder reflects the glowing scales of a passing fish.
