A cluster of bright red tomatoes rests on a weathered wooden crate in the corner of a Delhi kitchen. The morning light streams through the open window, highlighting the smooth, taut skin of the fruit. Behind them, a steel kettle sits on the stove with a faint grease sheen reflecting the heat. One green leaf from a nearby herb plant lies near the base of the crate. The simple stillness of a kitchen waiting for the day's cooking to begin.
