Textile Merchant Under Hanging Scales in Yangon Market

Soft, diffused light falls through low-hanging gray clouds, illuminating a textile merchant standing beside brass hanging scales. Bundles of colorful fabrics hang in precise rows from wooden beams, their reds, golds, and indigos muted slightly by the wet air. The merchant wears a traditional longyi, hands resting near the scale pans. Behind him, the stall recedes into layers of depth, revealing more bolts of cloth and the blurred shapes of other traders.
