Leather Merchant in Neon Light at Night

Stitched slippers in faded red and worn tan line the wooden hull of a small boat, resting alongside coiled leather belts. A merchant sits among the goods, his hands resting on a stack of finished slippers. Overhead, low-hanging clouds obscure the deepest night sky, while artificial neon signs from the shore reflect in rippling water and across the wet surfaces of the leather. The light casts sharp, colorful highlights on the grain of the hides and the stitching of the footwear. Wooden planks show signs of water exposure and age. The arrangement of merchandise fills the narrow space, creating a tactile display of everyday commerce under the floating market's dim glow.
