Tarnished Brass Bell in Edinburgh

A tarnished brass bell rests on the wet stone sill of a narrow Edinburgh tenement window, its surface catching the diffuse gray light of the misty dawn. Condensation beads form along the curved rim of the metal, reflecting the faint outline of the fog-shrouded street below. The rough texture of the historic masonry frames the object, against the smooth, cold sheen of the aged bell metal. One drop of water rests on the tip of the clapper, suspended against the dark interior shadows.
