Takoyaki Spheres on Grill in Osaka Diner

Golden-brown takoyaki spheres fill the hexagonal indentations of a black cast-iron grill, their surfaces glistening with oil and a light sheen of dark sauce. The metal griddle shows signs of use with darkened seasoning around the edges. Beside the cooking pan, a small white ceramic bowl holds a dollop of creamy mayonnaise against the warm orange hue of the food. Soft, diffused afternoon light from an overcast sky reflects gently off the wet surfaces of the takoyaki and the polished metal of the table. A pair of wooden chopsticks rests on the rim of the grill. A small red bottle of sauce stands at the edge of the frame.
